The map
Every project we can place, as a dot on a world map. It is free and sits under Database in the sidebar, next to the projects table.
What you are looking at
Each dot is one project with coordinates. Dots are coloured by primary commodity and sized by the project's headline resource tonnage - four sizes, with projects that have no resource yet drawn at the smallest. The header counts how many projects are mapped; projects we cannot place are still in the projects table, they just draw no dot.
Click a dot to open the project page. Hover one to see its name, owner and country.
Narrowing the dots
- Search - type a project, company or country and only matching dots stay on the map.
- Commodity chips - pick one commodity to show only those projects; pick it again to clear.
- Magnifier (top left) - place search. Type a town, region or country and the camera flies there.
- Layers (right) - basemap styles: Terrain, Light, Streets and Satellite.
- Plus and minus (right) - zoom. Scroll and drag work too.
Into the screener
Open in Pro screener takes what you narrowed to into the full Projects table, where you can add columns, filter on economics and resources, sort, save the screen and export it. The screener guide covers that side.
Dot placement is only as good as the coordinates behind it. Some project coordinates are approximate, and derived locations are labelled - the methodology page explains how locations are sourced.

Quick steps
- Open Map and search for a project, company or country.
- Use the commodity controls and map legend, then select a project dot.
- Open the linked project or choose Open in Pro screener to continue researching.
Missing pins and map differences
- Only projects with usable coordinates can appear on the map. Missing dots do not establish that no projects exist in an area; search the Projects table as well.
- Clear the search and commodity filter and zoom out if expected dots are missing. A project location can differ from its owner’s headquarters.
- The full map and a page’s small project map serve different contexts. Check filters on arrival in Pro Screener; do not assume the viewport rectangle was saved as a geographic filter.
- For an incorrect location, open the project and use Report error with the correct coordinates and a source if available.
