Yarrabee is a wholly owned, producing open-cut mine in Queensland's Bowen Basin. Conventional truck, blasting and shovel methods feed an existing coal handling and preparation plant, producing low-volatility PCI and thermal products. The proposed continuation project would add approximately 74 Mt of ROM extraction within the existing mining leases, retain the approved rate of up to 4 Mtpa ROM coal and extend operations to 2070, subject to environmental assessment and approvals. The continuation case is expected to produce primarily metallurgical coal, with some product potentially sold into thermal markets.
