Voisey's Bay is a producing nickel-copper-cobalt operation on the northeast coast of Labrador. Ore is sourced primarily from the Reid Brook and Eastern Deeps underground mines, while the current reserve plan also includes the Discovery Hill open pit. The on-site concentrator uses grinding and flotation to produce a high-grade copper concentrate and a combined nickel-copper-cobalt concentrate; the latter is processed by pressure leaching and downstream purification at Vale's Long Harbour plant. Vale Base Metals owns the operation through Vale Newfoundland and Labrador Limited, with Vale holding a 90% indirect interest in Vale Base Metals and Manara Minerals holding 10%. Wheaton's life-of-mine stream covers 42.4% of cobalt production until 31 million pounds have been delivered and 21.2% thereafter.
