Salobo is a large producing open-pit IOCG copper-gold operation in Pará, Brazil, operated through Salobo Metais S.A. Vale indirectly holds 90% of Vale Base Metals and Manara Minerals holds 10%. Wheaton has no mine equity but holds three life-of-mine gold streams totaling 75% of payable gold, subject to ongoing per-ounce payments. The December 2025 operating plan processes ore through crushing, grinding and flotation until 2050, including stockpile processing after open-pit mining ends in 2046. The economic analysis excludes the effect of Wheaton's streams. Vale Base Metals is also completing a feasibility study for coarse-particle flotation intended to lift total processing capacity to about 42 Mtpa and add approximately 30 kt of annual copper production.
