Peñasquito is a Newmont-operated, wholly owned open-pit polymetallic mine in northeastern Zacatecas. Sulphide ore is processed through sequential lead and zinc flotation, with precious metals recovered in concentrates and doré-related streams. Wheaton purchases 25% of the mine's payable silver production under a life-of-mine precious-metal purchase agreement. Newmont's December 31, 2025 reserve statement reports 3.2 Moz gold, 230 Moz silver, 0.7 Mt lead and 1.5 Mt zinc on a 100% basis. The 2024 technical report models production through 2032 and an after-tax NPV of US$1.1 billion at an 8% discount rate using US$1,400/oz gold, US$20/oz silver, US$1.00/lb lead and US$1.20/lb zinc.
