Antamina is a large open-pit copper-zinc skarn operation in the Central Andes of northern Peru. Ore is processed by SAG and ball milling followed by flotation into separate copper, zinc, molybdenum and lead-bismuth concentrates, which are transported through a 302-kilometre pipeline to the company-owned Huarmey port. BHP and Glencore each own 33.75% of Compañía Minera Antamina S.A., Teck owns 22.5% and Mitsubishi owns 10%. Wheaton does not own project equity; from April 1, 2026, its two streaming agreements cover the equivalent of 67.5% of Antamina silver production before their respective contractual dropdowns. The approved MEIA permits the operation through 2036, while the operator is studying additional tailings-storage and mine-plan options that could support a further extension.
