Voyageur is developing its patent-pending modular Mueller process to recover iodine from oilfield-produced brine under a collaboration with Bayer. Laboratory work using real produced water achieved 99.8% iodine purity and recovery above 90%. A transportable pilot rated at 80,000 litres per day is nearing completion and is scheduled for field operation in fall 2026. Fluor is supporting engineering and feasibility work, with FEL-3 dependent on the pilot becoming operational and producing field data. Voyageur retains the associated intellectual property and infrastructure, and no commercial plant commitment has been made. Subject to successful feasibility work, pilot completion and testing, Voyageur may evaluate staged deployment of 200-tonne-per-year field units and potential expansion to 1,000 tonnes per year.
