Sembehun is the Area 5 expansion adjacent to the established Area 1 operation. Its 2024 DFS defined a 14-year mine producing natural rutile plus ilmenite and zircon-in-concentrate. Under Leonoil ownership, Sierra Rutile secured a US$40 million first-phase Ecobank facility, acquired the former Kwale mineral-sands plant for relocation from Kenya and broke ground on a revised approximately US$120 million execution concept.
