Kloof is a wholly owned, intermediate- to deep-level gold operation in the West Wits Line of the Witwatersrand Basin. Following elevated seismicity and geotechnical concerns, Sibanye-Stillwater removed isolated high-risk blocks and closed No. 7 shaft at the end of 2025. The resulting one-year 2026 life-of-mine plan focuses on lower-grade secondary reefs at the two remaining producing shafts, No. 1 and No. 8. Underground ore is processed at the Driefontein No. 1 plant, while surface material is toll treated at the Ezulwini plant. The rebased operation returned to profitability in Q1 2026, and high gold prices may support mining beyond the current reserve life.
