Akanani is a PGM project area that contains a previously communicated attributable Mineral Resource of 252.4 Mt at 3.9 g/t 4E PGMs for 31.6 Moz 4E PGM. On 26 June 2026, the High Court delivered judgment in favour of BCR Projects Proprietary Limited, meaning Sibanye-Stillwater has no rights over the Akanani Project area and BCR Projects holds a prospecting right over it. Sibanye-Stillwater has applied for leave to appeal; if granted, the appeal is expected to be heard in the Supreme Court of Appeal in approximately mid-2027.
