Sherritt is a Canadian nickel and cobalt producer with a 50% interest in the vertically integrated Moa Joint Venture, whose Cuban laterite mine supplies its Fort Saskatchewan refinery. It also owns the Fort Site fertilizer and utility business and a one-third interest in Cuba's Energas power joint venture. Direct participation in Cuban joint ventures and metals production are currently suspended while the company seeks recapitalization and restart funding.
