Berwind is a producing 62,500-acre low- and mid-volatile metallurgical-coal complex spanning McDowell County, West Virginia, and Tazewell County, Virginia. One mine was active at year-end 2025; the complex includes underground, contour-surface and highwall mine plans and its own preparation infrastructure.
