Becancour Battery Material Plant

FeasibilityGraphite
Price-|MCap-

Wholly owned planned brownfield active-anode-material facility in Bécancour, with a first-stage capacity of 13,000 tonnes per year dedicated to the 2025 Panasonic Energy Binding Offtake Agreement. The Class 3 AACE cost estimate is complete. NMG is pursuing smaller dedicated additional battery material plants instead of the previous second-stage 44,000-tonne-per-year Bécancour plant; these could be developed on the adjacent greenfield site or other sites in North America or Europe. FID is targeted for H2 2026, subject to technical deliverables, stakeholder due diligence, required additional financing and Panasonic Energy commercial arrangements. Following FID, construction is expected to take approximately 24 months, followed by a 12-month ramp-up, with commercial production targeted within approximately 36 months of FID. Processing at the Phase 1 concentrator and battery material demonstration plants is gradually being phased out. NMG is partnering with laboratories to produce samples for plant engineering, additional plant development, customer qualification and process optimization.
