NMMC's largest production cluster comprises the Muruntau-Myutenbay pit, Besapantau and Balpantau mines, low-grade stockpiles, heap-leach tailings, HMP-2, HMP-7 and a gold heap-leach plant. Muruntau is about 40 kilometres east of Zarafshan, while the newer Besapantau and Balpantau satellite mines began production in 2024 and 2023.
