Songwe Hill is Mkango's wholly owned advanced rare earth mine project in southern Malawi. The current DFS uses conventional contract open-pit mining and on-site milling, flotation and hydrometallurgy to produce a 55% TREO mixed rare earth carbonate over an 18-year operating life. The project has a signed Mining Development Agreement, an approved environmental assessment and EU Critical Raw Materials Act strategic-project status, but still requires its large-scale mining licence, FEED, financing and construction.
