Los Pelambres is a producing open-pit copper mine and flotation operation in Chile's Coquimbo Region. Antofagasta operates and owns 60%, Mitsubishi Materials owns 10%, and other Japanese partners hold 30%. An environmental assessment is under review for growth projects intended to increase throughput and extend mine life to 2051.
