Bauxite Hills is Metro's wholly owned operating direct-shipping bauxite mine on the Skardon River in western Cape York. The mine uses free-dig surface mining without blasting, short-haul trucking, simple screening and barge-to-offshore-vessel transhipment. The current presentation indicates roughly ten years of reserve life at planned rates, with additional resource-conversion and beneficiation opportunities.
