Lynas Malaysia is the wholly owned separation and product-finishing operation in the Gebeng industrial area near Kuantan. It processes mixed rare-earth feed and produces finished light and heavy rare-earth oxides for customers in Asia, Europe and North America. The plant produced its first dysprosium and terbium in 2025 and first samarium oxide in March 2026. A staged A$294 million heavy-rare-earth expansion is under way, with gadolinium and yttrium the next dated products. The operating licence was renewed for ten years from 3 March 2026, while a separate proposed expansion EIA requires an updated submission.
