Titania A/S operates the active Tellnes open-pit rock-ilmenite mine near Hauge i Dalane. The wholly owned operation mines and processes ilmenite-bearing norite and supplies Kronos' European sulfate-process titanium dioxide plants while also serving third-party customers. Kronos reported that the mine supplied all feedstock used by its sulfate plants in 2025 and that 229,000 metric tonnes of mined ilmenite were used internally during the year. Full ilmenite-concentrate capacity is stated as 870,000 tonnes per year. Kronos carries internal reserve estimates supporting approximately 50 years of operations; the Geological Survey of Norway separately records 575 Mt of non-compliant reserves at 18% TiO2, which cannot be represented in the available commodity schema. The governmental mining concession has an unlimited term, while the environmental permit allows annual production of up to 1.2 Mt of ilmenite concentrate, 60,000 tonnes of magnetite concentrate and 20,000 tonnes of sulphide concentrate.
