Platreef is a mechanized underground polymetallic mine being developed in phases by Ivanplats. The 4.1 Mtpa Phase 1 and 2 feasibility case targets average life-of-mine production of 432,000 ounces per year of 3PE+Au, while a separate preliminary economic assessment evaluates a future expansion to 10.7 Mtpa. Ivanhoe indirectly owns 64%, B-BBEE partners own 26%, and a Japanese consortium owns 10%. Mineral Resource and Reserve PGE figures described here use the report's 3PE+Au composite, comprising platinum, palladium, rhodium and gold.
