Kamoa-Kakula is a producing, long-life underground copper complex covering approximately 400 square kilometres in the Central African Copperbelt. It is operated by Kamoa Copper SA and includes the Kakula, Kakula West, Kansoko Sud and Kamoa mining areas, three flotation concentrator phases and a 500,000-tonne-per-year direct-to-blister smelter. The December 31, 2025 reserve supports operation of the existing concentrators at approximately 17 Mtpa for about 25 years. Ivanhoe holds an effective 39.6% interest; Zijin Mining holds 39.6%, Crystal River Global Limited 0.8% and the DRC government 20%. The March 2026 mine plan uses a combination of drift-and-fill, cut-and-fill, room-and-pillar and longhole stoping and incorporates more cautious geotechnical assumptions following the 2025 Kakula disruption.
