Makuutu is a large-scale Ugandan ionic-adsorption-clay project held through Rwenzori Rare Metals Limited, in which IonicRE currently owns 60%. The current JORC 2012 resource is 617 Mt at 630 ppm TREO, including 517 Mt in the Indicated category. The initial Stage 1 DFS and granted large-scale mining licence cover the central development area. The project is described by IonicRE as shovel-ready, but construction funding and a final investment decision have not been announced. Current activity centres on strategic-partner, offtake and financing discussions.
