Oakover is Firebird's wholly owned flagship manganese resource in the eastern Pilbara, comprising the Sixty Sixer, Jay Eye and Karen deposits. A 2023 scoping study evaluated open-pit mining and DMS production of manganese concentrate, and Western Australia granted the project mining lease in March 2025. Firebird currently presents Oakover as long-term upstream feedstock optionality for its downstream technology strategy.
