ExxonMobil is developing battery-anode synthetic graphite by converting carbon-rich U.S. Gulf Coast refining streams into advanced coke and graphitizing the precursor with acquired Superior Graphite assets and technology. A collaboration at ACP Technologies' Ashland, Kentucky site supports precursor work, while the commercial facility site has not been disclosed.
