Badondo is an iron-ore project in northern Republic of the Congo. Equatorial's EEPL Holdings owns the project company, while Rock Mining SARL holds a 20% interest in EEPL. Equatorial alleges that Congo expropriated the investment in December 2020 after rejecting its exploitation-licence application and granting rights to a third party. The company is pursuing licence reinstatement, approval of its application or compensation through ICSID arbitration.
