Project Aurora is EMP and Saltworks' integrated 10-cubic-metre-per-day lithium-refining demonstration facility at Viewfield. By July 8, 2026 all major equipment and site infrastructure were in place, all key permits were secured, commissioning was approximately 50% complete and first raw brine had entered the pre-conditioning system. It is a demonstration plant, not commercial mineral production, and its performance data will support commercial-scale Viewfield engineering and future economic studies. Under the Demo Agreement dated May 25, 2025, termination by EMP without cause requires payment to Saltworks of C$4 million within one year of the agreement date, C$8 million between one and two years, or C$10 million between two and five years plus interest at 8% per annum. If Saltworks terminates the agreement, its payments to EMP are C$1.65 million within two years or C$2.15 million between two and five years of the agreement date, each subject to performance.
