Sierra Atacama is an operating underground copper mine and cathode-production complex near Antofagasta. Cobre Chile has received its pro-rata entitlement of convertible non-voting preference shares, but those shares convert only if it exercises the US$12 million Control Option by 31 December 2026. Exercise and conversion would give Cobre Chile a 62.86% interest in each of Sierra Atacama and Bergbau and control; neither conversion nor control is yet unconditional.
