Ekati is Canada's first surface and underground diamond mine and contains multiple kimberlite pipes processed through a central dense-media plant. The owner and operator entered receivership on 14 July 2026 after no viable proposal funded continued operations; the separate Fox Underground PFS remains recorded as a development case rather than the current operating case.
