Ema is an ionic-adsorption clay rare earth project near Apuí in Amazonas State, Brazil, being developed using in-situ recovery and mixed rare earth carbonate production. BCM has appointed Altris Engineering as lead design engineer for an approximately 24-week FEED phase. The programme will mature process-plant and infrastructure engineering, confirm major-equipment selections, develop procurement packages, refine capital costs and the implementation schedule, and prepare handover to a qualified Brazilian contractor for detailed design and construction engineering. The completed package is intended to support financing, procurement, regulatory approvals and Final Investment Decision.
