The Salamanca Project combines the Retortillo, Santidad, Zona 7, Alameda and satellite uranium deposits in western Spain. A July 2016 definitive feasibility study defined conventional open-pit mining and heap-leach processing, but the final construction authorisation was rejected and Berkeley is pursuing an administrative appeal and international arbitration.
