Barkly is a rare-earth exploration project in Australia's Northern Territory. A single preliminary sighter test on a 75.45 g non-representative composite, without a duplicate and under unoptimised conditions, reported 99% MREO and 94% yttrium to the acid-leach solution on a calculated-head, product-stream basis, and 92% phosphorus to the caustic-conversion solution. Head reconciliations were approximately 87% for MREO and 84% for Y2O3; downstream purification, impurity removal, rare-earth product recovery, a processing flowsheet, and technical and economic viability remain unproven pending larger representative confirmatory work.
