BacTech Environmental Corporation is a Canadian environmental-technology developer advancing a planned owner-operated bioleach processing facility at Tenguel, Ecuador. The facility is designed to purchase refractory gold-silver concentrates from small mines around Ponce Enriquez, recover precious metals using the company's BacOx bacterial-oxidation process, and stabilize arsenic. BacTech also conducts pre-commercial research and patent work on pyrrhotite-tailings treatment, but that technology program does not yet constitute a mineral project or owned processing operation.
