Great Atlantic comprises 291 contiguous claims covering about 7,275 hectares south of Stephenville. The updated feasibility design uses twin declines and room-and-pillar underground mining, underground crushing and screening and a roughly 2.5-kilometre covered conveyor to marine loading infrastructure at Turf Point. Atlas owns the project and the salt production is subject to a 3% net production royalty held by Vulcan Minerals Inc.
