Chirano is a long-running open-pit and underground gold complex about 15 kilometres south-southwest of Bibiani. Current operations blend ore from the Aboduabo, Mamnao and other surface centres with the Obra, Suraw, Tano, Akoti and Akwaaba underground mines through a central CIL plant.
