Centinela is a 70%-owned open-pit mining district operated by Minera Centinela, with Marubeni Corporation holding the remaining 30%. Sulphide ore is processed by milling and flotation to produce copper concentrate containing gold and silver, plus molybdenum concentrate; oxide material is heap-leached and treated by SX-EW to produce copper cathodes. Centinela produced 240.4 kt of copper, 156.5 koz of gold and 3.4 kt of molybdenum in 2025. At 31 December 2025, reported resources comprised 200 Mt of oxides and 4,951 Mt of sulphides, while reserves comprised 112.0 Mt of cathode oxide material and 2,393.2 Mt of concentrate sulphide material. The Second Concentrator adds 95 kt/day of capacity and is designed for average first-ten-year production of 144 kt/year of copper, 130 koz/year of gold and 3.5 kt/year of molybdenum. Construction continued during 2026 with equipment energisation, water-system testing and pre-commissioning underway; the expansion is intended to extend the district's operating life beyond 30 years.
