CERENERGY is a proposed 120 MWh-per-year sodium-chloride solid-state battery manufacturing line at Schwarze Pumpe in Saxony. A March 2024 DFS defined a 20-year first-line case and the project has received its principal German environmental and construction approval. Altech owns 75% through Altech Batteries GmbH and Fraunhofer holds 25%. A conditional STARK grant of up to EUR46.7 million covers about 30% of eligible capital expenditure, but full project financial close remains outstanding, so the project is classified as Feasibility rather than Construction.
