Alma Gold originally controlled five Karita permits through acquired subsidiaries. It did not renew two less-prospective permits, applied to renew two preferred permits after the required 50% area reduction, and postponed renewal of a fifth permit that was later revoked. Guinean authorities subsequently acted against the two renewal applications, now identified in the cadastre as permits 22718 and 22717. Alma Gold formally appealed and seeks restoration of its rights; the carrying value was impaired to nil because the outcome is uncertain.
