Ajax is a proposed conventional open-pit copper-gold mine southwest of Kamloops. Abacus owns 20% and is carried through production by 80% owner and operator KGHM. A 2016 feasibility study and current reserves support the stage, but British Columbia declined the environmental assessment certificate in December 2017 and the project cannot proceed without a new approval.
